Monument is a boutique mixed-use apartment in Vancouver’s Kitsilano neighbourhood. A series of horizontal, dark-clad bands contain projecting and recessed volumes into a singular form. On the east, the bands extend to create large balconies oriented towards the view. Cross laminated timber was used for floor assemblies to provide solidity and a sustainable alternative to concrete.
